boating, swimming, rafting on world class whitewater, camping,
excellent trout fishing, horseback riding, snowboarding,
snowmobiling, alpine and cross-country skiing at Wisp Ski Resort
near Deep Creek Lake, ice climbing and scenic plane rides, plus a
wide variety of family entertainments, dining and shopping
locations.
It is estimated that 76.1% of Garrett County's
residents live outside town limits. Garrett is the most rural county in Maryland
and is sought after for this reason. There are 567 farm businesses in the
county. Unique shops along tree-lined streets in Garrett County's friendly towns
